The study aims to identify potential challenges which emergency advocacy services must overcome to effectively provide assistance and support to male victims of interpersonal violence. The study uses a mixed methods research model to identify challenges that emergency advocacy services may face when responding to male victims. The qualitative component of the research, through interviews with five IPV experts across the nation, identified 14 important and common challenges. The 14 challenges were then used to create a survey for the quantitative phase which was then administered to agencies providing emergency advocacy services in California.
