Summary This paper gives an overview of the rapid growth of victims' services provided by the Victim Support Service in regional South Australia. The services provided are outlined and the regional service model that was developed by the organisation is discussed. Due to the experimental nature of the model there were various barriers or difficulties that were under estimated or not anticipated and through continual improvement, the model was modified. The author concludes with a summary of lessons that can be learned from the South Australia regional model. A key concept learned was the value of partnerships and collaboration, and giving up the need to control.
